Effective August 1, 2021, DC Green Bank implemented an ethics and compliance hotline called “Red Flag Reporting.” Red Flag Reporting is an independent company that is dedicated to protecting organizations as well as their employees, clients, partners, assets, and reputations. Simply put, this service allows people to report any concerns regarding improper activity within the workplace. This could range from financial concerns such as theft or misstated financial statements to workplace concerns such as harassment, discrimination, safety issues, substance abuse, compliance issues and other concerns of this nature. Red Flag Reporting is independent from DC Green Bank, which allows reporters to remain completely anonymous if they choose.
Adding this service is part of DC Green Bank’s ongoing efforts to ensure strong internal controls and creating a safe environment for all involved in this work. This type of service has been touted as a best practice by the likes of the Society for Human Resource Management, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and others. Red Flag Reporting has a very positive tone that supports working for the common good. DCGB’s intent and motivation is to protect our co-workers, clients, assets and reputation.
Alongside the Red Flag Reporting service, we continue to encourage anyone who has a concern to speak directly with a DCGB supervisor if they feel comfortable; otherwise, this new option via Red Flag Reporting is now available.
