DC Green Bank provided a $750,000 loan to Portofino, LLC, for a new-build 19-unit development near the RFK Stadium campus. The all-electric building features highly efficient heat pumps, rooftop solar, an EV charger, and a high-performance building envelope. Two of the units will be reserved for households at 60% of area median income or lower.
“As this neighborhood grows in the coming years, this new building will set a high standard for energy-efficient development,” said Brandi Colander, CEO of DC Green Bank. “We’re proud to work with developers like Portofino that are investing in making our neighborhoods more resilient and ensuring that we have affordable homes for residents as our communities grow.”
“DC Green Bank’s team understood why we wanted to build this development to such a high standard and helped make it possible,” said Abraham Soquar, developer of the property. “We’re excited to be part of the future of this neighborhood and to add both high-quality and affordable homes to the community.”
