Janel works with our team and partners to maximize the impact of our investments and support projects from the first conversation to the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
She brings experience in environmental justice, federal grant administration, and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining DC Green Bank, Janel served as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights. Her work included developing operational processes, evaluating grant applications, coordinating with regional and community partners, and supporting applicants nationwide.
Janel earned a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Policy from Florida A&M University. A Miami native, she is passionate about leveraging innovative finance to advance environmental justice and create healthier, more resilient communities.
